About Johannes

Growing up in a musical household, Johannes started playing drums at the age of 6.
In his late teens he was part of the indie band ‚Paper & Places‘, releasing the album ‚No Home‘ (Grand Hotel van Cleef) in 2013 and appearing on national television and radio (ZDF, BR, NDR, rBB…).
After the band split up, Johannes went to study Jazz-Drums at the Musikhochschule Nuremberg and at the renowned Jazz-Institut in Berlin.
As sideman in Kira Linn’s Linntett he contributed to several albums, playing concerts at festivals (Jazzahead, Jazztage Burghausen, Jazzralley Düsseldorf) and touring Europe and Southeast Asia.
His collaborations in Jazz include Jorge Rossy, Domenic Landolf, Rich Perry, Phillip Dornbusch, Phil Donkin, Julian und Roman Wasserfuhr and others while also playing for pop acts like the band ‚Bruckner‘.
During the pandemic he started composing for his own Band ‚Life is Great‘, playing their first tour in March 2023 where they also recorded their first album.
